Secondary Transfer

Bromley Council has also provided a useful presentation on the secondary transfer process for parents and carers. You can download the presentation here.

We are very proud of all our children - they are happy and successful at Churchfields School. We are also proud of the range of schools that our children go onto for their secondary education and how well prepared they are for the next stage. Our aim is that they are ‘sad to leave but ready to move on’ both as successful learners and confident young people.

The majority of children from Churchfields tend to go onto a relatively small number of schools including: Eden Park High, Harris Beckenham, Harris Bromley, Langley Park Girls, Langley Park Boys, Kingsdale Foundation School, Bishop Justus and Hayes.

Other pupils take up an offer at an independent (fee paying) school including Croydon High School GDST, Dulwich College, Royal Russell, Sydenham High School GDST, Trinity School or at academically-selective grammar schools including Wallington High School for Girls and Wallington County Grammar School.

Transfer to secondary school

You must apply for a secondary school place for your child to start Year 7 at secondary school when your child is in Year 6 at primary school. Applications for Year 7 places in September 2024 open on 1 September 2023 and close on 31 October 2023.

The national offer date for on-time secondary applications is 1 March 2024.

If you are a Bromley resident, you need to make your application through London Borough of Bromley. You can name schools outside of Bromley on your application if you wish.
